Which bike would be best for a Ladakh trip?

I am Planning a Bike trip to Ladakh and back.?

  • This has been on the back of my mind for close to two years now. How much time would it take. What cost( including fuel). Ideal places for night stays. Dangers. Best bike( enfield seems to be the best option - but someone may have good experiences in other bikes)

    Very good idea to explore by bike .I advise you to carry some social message like anti Aids ,envioronment,global warming which may attract some sponsors as well to support your all kind of needs .I really wish you success .Try this Manali--Ley 400 km route ,passing through Khardungla pass (17000 ft above sea level--highest mountain road in the world ).Carry lot of dry foods ,cosume plenty water ,Take rest every 200 km drive .It will be better driving with another person

First of all....COngratulations on the noble thought!!! You will never regret it. You cannot do it now but wait and prepare for it and do it post April when the road is clear and the snow is still there. Yep bullet is fine but i did it on an Energy FX and it did great. Start from Delhi: Reach Manali Lot of hotels in Manali for all budgets. Let me know if you want some local contacts. From Manali make your way to Jispa for overnight stay. There is hotel Jispa or you can go for Tushita camp From Jispa drive to Pang for the next overnight Servie your bike, learn how to change a puncture. Even if you dont, then dont worry, That is room for adventure. People passing by are people like you and will be willing to help. Read more and more about people who have done it.
