Who has more power to make decisions in India: the Prime Minister or the President?

  • I need to know this for an essay I have to write, so I'll know whether I'll have to do more research on the PM or president. Actually, I need to know especially who has more power in determining foreign policy.

The Prime Minister. He is the head of the government and all matters relating to foreign, internal, defence is dealt by him or his council of ministers. The President is the head of state and has many powers but needs the approval of the parliament first. Since, India follows the British parliamentary system the President and his functions is somewhat similar to the King/Queen of UK, while the PM has most of the powers. Although in practice the PM functions all the policies on behalf of the President, but the President does not play any major political part.

only riches in india have the power to make decisions, and determine foreign policies its a country which is following capitalism and corporates, but no civil rights...meaning...a modern form of raja praja culture...the king builts the palace and the janta suffers...that is why you have such unbelievable fluctuation between riches and poor in india... that is the only reason..india used to be called a sone ki chidiya since the society worked on caste system not a class system...people knew their work and were doing it religiously monitored by an authority who didnt had all the powers....the british raaj saw these things....and installed a timebomb called class system before leaving...and the result?? its a lootmaar...who so ever becomes rich is in power...and who is not is poor...and who is confused with ethics and principles are the ever suffering middleclass... so a rich would be enjoying its corporate luxury....the poor will try to catch up by opening a wadapaw stall next to a toilet of some suburban local train station....and the middleclass will slog theirass 14 hours a day...and look a the wadapaw guy who earns more than him...and think....jeez i cant open a wadapaw stall "are bhai izzat ka sawal hai?" the politics and ministers are just puppets for nakesake tied to the strings of riches
