Are Indian nationals mostly pretty disgraceful?

Is there a law in India that prevents foreigners from staying with Indian nationals in the same hotel room?

  • I am a UK citizen and my boyfriend is an Indian national. We want to holiday together in Goa this spring but I have heard that it is against Indian law to share the same hotel room. The travel agent says she ''thinks'' this is correct but is unable to verify. Can anyone answer this query? I dont want to get there only to find we cant stay together! Thanks.

  • Answer:

met my husband in Goa. travelled all over India with him. never had a problem with any hotel. so the answer is nope. no such law

I don't think so. I travelled from Bombay to Delhi with an Indian guy once, and we shared a room in a couple of hotels, no problems.

While there is no rule which prevents two nationals sharing same room, it is considered as illegal for an adult man and woman staying together in the same room unless they are married.
