Do You Agree That India Should Celebrate A Second Independence Day???

  • When we became independent in 1947, we were not only independent from British oppression, but also Muslim oppression. Indians forget that before we were exploited by the British, we were being exploited by the Muslims, who according to me are just as foreign as British are. Thr truth is that before India was independent in 1947, we hadn't been indpendent untill before the Delhi sultanate was established in 7th century. So why do we only celebrate one independence day from british rule. Why don't we celebrate a second indepndence day to celebrate our independence from the muslim mughals, who were far more monstrous than the British

    I do not agree and that should answer your close-ended question. If we go by your logic, then we will be celebrating the ascend of the British in India who were instrumental in taking power out of the Muslim and other rulers giving you your "independence". [Maybe it was in the fitness of things that the British came over, smashed the ruling class in India - Hindu, Muslim or Sikh and laid down some semblance of infrastructure, education and other edifices that continue to be helpful to this day.]

the modern india was a result of the british reign.. well , we finally are independent but it was the british rule that has brought nationalism in the country... secondly, not all the regions of india was part of the delhi sultane or the moughal empire so it cant be considered national... finally, there are many states that celebrate their own freedom days,but the country abides by the fact the independence day is celebrated on 15th of august... goa celebrates its freedom from portugese (1961)and hyderabad from nizams (these werent esthablished in 1947)

Another celebration?Here we are a poor nation where more than half the population is struggling to get at least one square meal a day and you want to give our fat politicians another occasion to fill their overflowing coffers.Pardon my saying so but your suggestion,to say the least seems facetious if not fatuous.Even with the existing independence we are unable to eradicate child labor and bonded labor.What freedom do you want to celebrate?Or is it that you wish to add to the already crippling holiday list in our country where we seem to be working only every alternate day?

Independence Day is not to mark exit of British but imperialism of all kinds. British ruled through Rajas. British gave power back to them. Rajas quit seeing public mood against them. India is not yet independent from my point of you. So long exploitation does not end, independence has little meaning to me.

The Muslim India was a lot different geographically than British India,which we still have.If you have a thing against Muslims,you have to dig out a better reason.

Is india independent ??? and if it is then how would you describe india's independence is it right to say india is not a poor country? is it right to say that there is no child labour in india ? is it right to say that historical practices like sati and child mairrages does not exist in india?The Dowry system ,Desire for male progeny,Ill treatment of widows ARE INDIAN WOMEN NOT FACING THESE PROBLEMS IN INDIA ANYMORE if these practices r still existing in india GIVE ME A REASON TO CLEBRATE OUR INDEPENDENCE THIS QUESTION IS FROM AN INDIAN WOMEN TO A MALE DOMINATED INDIAN SOCIETY

We are politically independent. British were our rulers and we got political independence from them. Muslim rule was a cultural attack. Hindus had to pay Jajia tax and things like that so a large population was converted into Islam faith which we still have in our society. We are not yet independent of that cultural attack. Our politicians for their vote bank politics are keeping it alive. So there is no cultural independence yet so no need to celebrate it. If you talk of minority you are communal and if you talk of majority you are communal. Is that the Independence from cultural attack we have got ?
