What areas of India and Nepal can you find the people with the fairest skin?

  Skin colour of people in India mainly depends upon three factors 1) Geographical location (latitude) 2) cast position 3) Race India is a vast country that stretches from 9' N to 37' N.There is a gradual increase in skin colour from south to north.Usually people of Tamilnadu has the darkest skin as I seen in India where people of Jammu and kashmir has the fairest skin.But people who belong to the higher casts mainly have a fairer skin irrespective of the geographical location.Even today all the marriages in India are done only between the same cast groups.It prevents the inter mixing of genes and maintains the skin colour variation due to cast system.Another parametre determines the Indian skin colour is the race which they belongs.People of southern India are dravidas where people of northern India are aryas.Usually aryas have a fairer skin than dravidas.Another sub group is the mongoloids living in the north-eastern part of India.People of these areas has a yellowish skin complexion.
