Of course! Habit of cleanliness starts from ourselves then it comes to our house, then locality, then our city and then finally our country .so one must have habit of being neat & clean ,every where and in every condition.Cleanliness gives u happiness , happiness gives u a healthy mind & healthy body. And a healthy person can definitely make progress as well make his country be developed. So if u love ur country the firstly keep ur surroundings clean & secondly save our natural resources also. This is the way we can serve our country.

Yes, habit of cleanliness is the way for good health and this leads to wealth. Unfortunately there are slum areas in the big cities where all waste water, drainage is on the road. Why blame poor people who stay in the slum areas as they have no alternative. On the other hand the roads in the plush colonies are made dirty by the dogs which stay in the bunglows of rich people. These dogs are not toilet trained and hence they make roads in the colonies dirty. The owners take them on a evening / morning walk just make them to make the roads dirty. The slum dogs are better than the rich dogs.

most of the people said YES and as an Indian I feel happy! i am on a tourist visa to US and i find the systems and people obeying the system to be excellent and amazing .i think , to reach this level i think Indians need some time in US i am yet to see litter being thrown / spitting in public places /roads etc on the contrary in India you can lay a national highway with the amount of plastic garbage available adj to the railway tracks ( one of the engineers from bangalore found novel way of usage of waste plastics as one of the ingredients to lay roads) note : apart from cleanliness it is also amazing to see the rule obeying/descipline by Americans . i am yet to see blowing of horn of the vehicle during their driving ( which is done only in case of a grave mistake of the other driver) on the contrary we honk even when not required at all! they compulsorily stop the vehicles at the stop board/junction , make sure that it is safe to go ahead, before proceeding whether there is a police or not ., and at the signals wait for the signal till it is green, no jumping of lanes and or signals , respect others privacy etc etc

of course yes. I think we should soon plan and execute Rail Terminus building to world-standards on lines to airports (not necessarily the scale but neatness).

while indians display a heightened sense of personal hygiene , they utterly lack sense of collective and social Hygiene habits. this results due to lack of dignity of labour and a warped sense of civic duties. most indians due to casteism feel that one particular type of work is inferior to another particularly if it relates to cleaning and therefore accomplishing it would lower them in the society. as a result they do not even flush the common toilets after using thinking that they are then cleaning toilets for the next user and therefore become cleaners caste, without thinking that when they visited it , the toilet was clean and therefore they should leave it that way for others. it is for this reason not only one finds the most filthy public toilets in india but also most public places are dirty and filthy as people think that theirs is not to clear the garbage but some low caste people therefore they can go ahead and throw around garbage without thinking that eventually they live in a big garbage dump. with improved economic levels and education hopefully people will learn to appreciate cleaner surroundings , respect cleaners who work in difficult surroundings helping to improve everybody's quality of life and may then involve them selves in keeping india clean, though their backward religious and casteist thinking is likely to delay this process for long. till then when you visit india carry your own water and better check the kitchen for even the best of the restaurants with grand frontage are most likely to have dirty kitchens.
