Which is the best road route from coimbatore to goa?

I got an idea of NH 17 (coimbatore-calicut-mangalore-goa). But i heard the road condition is very very bad. Can anyone update me the current road condition of NH 17?
Answer:

go via Coimbatore---Mysore--- Mangalore--- Goa.... Road condition is good but a little lengthy way it will take 30 mins more to reach

You can go From Coimbatore , 1) calicut , mangalore- Goa NH 17 774kms 2) mysore,mangalore- Goa NH209 , NH17 820KMS 3)Mysore,Bhadravathi, Shimoga,Karwar - Goa. NH 206 As you said NH 17 is good But NH209 is less traffic NH 17 has beautiful landscapes, you feel frush.
