Importance of tourism in india?

Can this be a next generation tourism in India ?

  • This is to encourage people to visit village area and spend one or two nights in a serene village atmosphere .There are 6 lakh villages in India where some of the villages having magnificient scenic beauty yet to be tapped .We can choose 4/5 villages of near by area where some muddy roads, plowing of farm products are visible ,full greenery ,some small hillocks ,some ponds ,channel, rivers and some ethinic people having age old arts, heritage temple and lastly travel by camel or bullock carts only with in the villages ,foods from ethinic village preparations This tourism is very low budget will attract large no of city people particularly students community who have never seen village and ethinic villagers and village activities .This kind of tourism will have good educational values and have high employment potentials for rural populations which will impact tremendous economic activities amongst greater sections of Indians .The arrangement can be made by a bus load 3 days in a week (weekend also) with escort from the city as well as from villagers as well .I feel this kind of tourism is the first of its kind in India and will give tremendous economic wealth to our rural populations As a starting we can develop such kind of village for one spot only initially and can increase different villages slowly I want maximum participations in Y/A for this answer as how this rural tourism can be developed

Brother Asim, awesome concept. This should be something like a summer camp, where families and kids can relax after frustrating annual exams ;-o). State school boards should endorse rural tourism and encourage schools for excursion's. State govt must give small tax concessions to local corporates using rural tourism. Basic infrastructure with essential commodities must be available in such places. Safety from insects, snakes etc must be the primary precaution. There are always useless folks, just standing in groups near tea shops having nothing to do talking politics and teasing tress passers, I would pick them up in a police van and use it for cleaning/building/developing such tourism place (just give them breakfast, lunch and tea). This might give them worthy living feeling. There are already nice villages, visiting such villages during harvest season will educate the kids how they get their easy meal and hard labour behind it.

But people don't like to visit village because of facilities like electricity, water, whicles are not available there. But now Raj. Govt. is developing these areas and some tour operators are also provide village tour. I suggest everyone to visit villages during holidays.

Yes this is already a very big trend in Maharashtra. At various places in Maharashtra this is happening and in healthy status / position. In fact there are various tour companies or even co-op societies who are handling and setting up like this. And MTDC , the Tourism development corporation in Maharashtra is working towards such a concept and has already authorised hundreads of village- homes as "bed and breakfast" structures providing such services at various places. I wish you all the success if you are trying to set up such a facility at your place. If you, then let me know. Some day I may enjoy this.
