How To Learn Hindi From Tamil Language?

If I wanted to visit/live for a time in Southern India what language should I learn?

  • I know that there are many different Indian languages but which one language would get me the farthest? Should I learn Hindi or Tamil or another language? Thanks

    I would be of the opinion that English would be the best language to use unless you are going in very remote vilages. I have spent a year in India and only once had a real problem with language. Have fun
