How can I find my pnr status?

India Train Booking Status - likelihood of being confirmed?

  • India Train Booking Status - likelihood of being confirmed? Hey there I know that this will have been answered a million times, and I have gone through quesitons and answered but It's all a bit confusing when it is different to your booking and I'm so busy I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out I would be so so grateful me and my traveller friend have booked into a train on two 2A seats and our status is 'WL 3 & 4. When I type in my PNR status into the official website it also says the status is PQWL. Is there good chance we will get the berth's we would like. Once it goes to RAC, we wouldn't want to get on the train but then find we have a much lower class level. In the future is it a good idea to book a RAC train if we see one we would like (we are using cleartrip as we are both from UK). Many many thanks in advance

  • Answer:

We can't say because 2A seats are less when compared to 3A. If not confirmed, then try for Tatkal or postponement of journey for 1 or 2 days or try to book the ticket from some other station & some other train, nearer to your boarding Station...

In all probability it will be confirmed. Wait list up to five are normally confirmed. You can buy "tatkal" two days before your journey if it is not confirmed.

In most of the trains, the 2AC coaches are less. Either two or one depends upon the train. So the availability of seats in 2AC is also less when compared to 3AC and sleeper class. Each station is allotted a quota of seats for passengers using the particular station. So your status of WL 3-4 mean that your ticket would get confirmed only if other passengers having confirmed tickets (from the origin station where you are supposed to board) cancels the ticket. Chances are remote for PQWL tickets to get confirmed when compared to ordinary WL tickets, but there are little chances that you will get RAC, means you can travel by sitting in the train.. Anyway hope for the best & happy journey.
