I'm soon to be touring in India with my band. Any advice?

I'm pretty gig fit and have toured a lot in UK and Europe, so I know the pitfalls of being on the road, but I have never been to India so I would appreciate some advice. I understand that I need to watch what I eat and drink, but apart from that, is there any seasoned traveller out there who can share some wisdom? Particularly from the perspective of a touring musician! We'll be out there for three weeks with gigs in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and some other cities, starting in September.
