How to plan a trip to Goa?

How could I plan for a trip at Goa?

  • Let me know how many days it will take to complete. I'll be traveling from Kolkata. Also please intimate which places should I go there and where should I stay. Let me know the budget also.

  • Answer:

Plan a holiday for about 10 days. Catch a Mumbai bound train from Howrah station and reach Mumbai in the morning (try Mumbai Mail). That day roam around Mumbai city with a Tour operator (1 day packaged tour). Next day catch Konkan Railway's Goa bound train (Mandavi Exp) in the morning (departs 6:55 a.m. from Mumbai CST). Enjoy the beauty of Mumbai - Goa train route's natural scenes (you won't forget in life, I bet you). Get down at Karmali station (will arrive around 5 p.m.) and take an auto/cab to reach Panjim. Stay in a hotel (viz. La Capitol) nearby Mandavi river which will make you feel great. Next day onwards, book a conducted tour (available thru your hotel also) to travel several beaches, museum and temple in north and south Goa. If possible take a long time to stay at Calangute beache (I found it best). Also don't miss the cruise ship in the evening. Take 1 day tour to see "Doodhsagar" (Ocean of Milk) and return to Goa. Have Goa's local wine (Ferni) but never take it much. While returning from Goa you can take the same route otherwise if time permits you may visit Mahabaleswar. Tour expenses obviously will depend on your style of luxury but can plan a budget of Rs. 15000/-

goa is what you want it to be - south is big hotels - north small hotels and you can rent a room from a family.for english its cheap but some indians say its expensive. the drink is cheap i seriously suggest that although its famous stay well away from tito's - it wasn't what it used to be.and you could spend a lot of money on nothing for europeans goa is about sun sea seafood and alcohol . the people are nice have a good time. try the local honey bee brandy - but be careful the sea can be rough. if no-one is in - ask a local on the beach if its safe. goans are very polite, and get annoyed with some indians who are rude. so be polite and have a good holiday.

You can spend as many days in Goa as you like, you would must love it. I believe a trip to Goa shouldn't be less than 4-5 days. Find out tourism information at http://www.mustseeindia.com/Goa You can stay either in Daula Paula or an Panjim. These places are close to all the good beaches.
