How much would it be to get a train ticket on the day?

Can I book mumbai local train ticket in the previous day of journey?

I live in Malad. I want to go to Matheran. There is the Deccan express train from Dadar to Neral at 7:25 in the morning. It might be difficult to stand in queue and get ticket the next day. Can I book the ticket on the previous day it self?

If you book for "Deccan Express" then only this is possible. Book your ticket through internet. Go to www.irctc.co.in, book your ticket ( book atleast 3 days in advance) and you will get the ticket delivered to your home / office. Ofcourse there will some postal charges for the same. But the big plus is you don't have to stand in a queue.

You can buy bunches of tickets [Rs. 50/-] when even ever you need it just take stamp from auto ticket print machine.
