Hey. Mumbai is not a very safe place for someone like you- you're young and single. Girls shouldn't go anywhere alone in Mumbai. Stay in groups and always carry some weapon, such as pepper spray. My mom lived there before she moved to the US to become a doctor, when she was around 21. The night life, restaurants, clubs, etc. are great. It is really crowded. It is a very vibrant city with amazing culture. Many Indians refer to it as the city where all dreams come true. Sometimes, it's stinky in certain areas. Slums are everywhere. It is a country that has many poor people, keep in mind. It'll be significantly less cleaner than the UK. Don't talk in English as much as possible. I keep my mouth shut whenever I visit India with my mom. Some ignorant salespeople and locals may try to "trick" you into higher prices, bad deals, or treat you unfairly, after hearing your foreign accent. Try to live in a slightly affluent area or in an area with lots of people around.
