Which is closer to Dhaula Kuan - Hazrat Nizamuddin or New Delhi Railway Station?

Delhi : How much time does it generally take from Indira Gandhi Int'l Airport to H Nizamuddin Railway Station?

  • I am planning to land on the Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport, and then take a train from there. This is supposed to be at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. Now there is not too much time (only 3-4 hours) from the arrival of flight to the departure of the train, and I am not sure if I can make it in time travelling by taxi. Can someone who lives in Delhi please tell me that? I can of course look into Google Maps etc., but I am not sure if the estimated time duration shown there is close to the real time it takes in India. How much time could it take if the traffic is not in my favor?

    If you will take taxi it will take around 1.5 hours to 2 hours.

3 -4 hours is enough time to reach Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station but it will also depend on what time you are landing. If you will commute between the two destination during office hours, you will see a lot of traffic. Or else you can take a metro from the airport till Jungpura metro station. Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is quiet closeby from here.

If you have so much time restriction then take metro from airport, instead of taxi or auto. It will take max 30-40 mins.

Hey Daniel, Metro should suit you. 3 Hrs are more than enough to reach Nizamuddin Station. You need to take the Metro and get down at New Delhi Railway station. From ND Rly Stn. you'll have to change the lane to Jangpura Metro Station which lies on Yellow Line, metro going towards HUDA City Center, can drop you there. From Jangpura metro station, Hazrat Nizamudin Railway station is quite close and you can reach using an Auto Richshaw paying 50 INR ~1USD. People are friendly and happy to help. reach out someone who is sensibly dressed ;) or within Airport or Metro stations you can reach Guards / security staff.

Hi Daniel, It will take around 2 hours. If You will choose Metro train to reach at Hazrat Nizamuddin then you can save time by skipping traffics on road. when you leave airport metro station it will take around 1 and half or 2 hours to reach. From Airport you have to take the metro train going for new delhi, after reaching at new delhi change the metro and picked yellow line metro to reach at Rajiv chowk station. it will take only 2 min from New Delhi. from Rajiv chowk now get the blue line metro going towards Noida city center and drop it at Indprastha metro station, from rajiv chowk it will take only 10 min. After reaching at Indprastha hazrat nizamuddin railway station is around 1 km away so you can take auto rickshaw or get into bus. if you choose auto rickshaw then it cost will be around 20 to 30 INR rupees and in bus case it will be 5 INR. HI Dear, It will hardly take 1 hours to 1.30 minute time from IGI airport to H. Nizamuddin Railway station if you take Taxi. It is better for you if you take the route like Gurgoan-Delhi Flyover-Basant Goan-IIT Delhi - Nehru Place-Kalkaji Mandir-Lajpat Nagar-Nehru Nagar-Ashram-Nizamuddin railway Station or Sarai Kale Khan Site. This will be easy and very smooth Traffic in this route. The other options is take the taxi and take the route Basant Goan-Ring Road Moti Bagh-Hyatt-Aiims-Mulchand-lajpat nagar-Ashram-Nizamuddin Railway Station. ( Note: Ring Road is red light free but in evening some traffic will be found in this route). It is your choice to select the path for how to reach Nizamuddin Railway station.) Thanks
