Is New Delhi a poor part of India?

Is there a hotel as part of Delhi airport in India? If not, where should I go?

  • Landing at midnight, taking off again at 6:45am, but need a clean safe place to sleep for a few hours. Travelling with children.

  • Answer:

Hello, I am a resident of Delhi. Airport Authority of India (AAI) has no tie-ups with hotels in the country. In addition, there are no hotels inside the airport perimeter. However, if you need a hotel very near to the airport, and at affordable rates, just head to this place - Mahipalpur - 1 Km from the airport gate, and you will find a chain of hotels there. 2 Kms farther, there is "Radisson" hotel, which is a little expensive. A good idea would be to let your children sleep in the "waiting room". They charge very less; the room is clean, has some other facilities too. Contact AAI Help Desk on arrival; you would see their stalls in bright orange boards saying: "May I Help You." They have beds there. Since you have only a few hours until you depart again, I do not think that a visit to the hotel is necessary. Read a novel, a magazine, have coffee, just do something to entertain yourself, and you won't even know it is 6:45 am. Bon Voyage
