  • Need upto 3 star hotels in Chennai. Need something above average. Need to know about tourist spots around chennai, i have 2 and half days to spare. open to stay in a different town or city during travel. Specially the "off the beaten track" spots. likes Nature (but in abundance), History, spiritual places, architecture, Please recommend only excellent beaches as i am from Goa (Already seen a lot). I have a child with me. What is best private vehicle rental agency around, Secure and trusted? Are there any resorts with Special features that you would like to recommend? if you are a local, do you recommend any things to do in Chennai, ex. visit a speciality restaurant, or visit a specific place for a sunrise, etc. THank you for your help.

Hi, I have been to Chennai a couple times in past one year. I always stayed on ECR (East coast road) on the other side of ocean in this resort called "The Only Place". I particularly liked that whole area. There is a lot to do like beaches, Amusement park (Mayazaal, VGP and MGM). Few nice restaurants and whole of ECR to drive of course. Main Chennai would be around 20 km from there. Marina beach would be around 10 km (if you care about it). Take a drive on ECR up to Pondicherry via Mahabalipuram. (the drive is abut 50km to Mahabalipuram and another 90 km to Pondicherry) Trust me you would love it. Stop whereever you feel like and you will find a beach around. Crocodile bank (nice activity for kids) in on the way around 40 km from VGP. You can spend an hour in there. For more information on all these please check following travel guides: Chennai - http://www.khojbin.com/Tamil-Nadu_Chennai_Guide_6 Mahabalipuram - http://www.khojbin.com/Tamil-Nadu_Mahabalipuram_Guide_4 Pondicherry - http://www.khojbin.com/Pondicherry_Pondicherry_Guide_5 Hope it helps
