How To Learn Telugu Through Tamil?

I need help with Tamil?

  • Its been about 2 months since I started learning Tamil and am quickly grasping it (my mother tongue is Telugu) but still have a few questions. 1. How do you say "from"? example, I come from Andhra. 2. Translate I speak better Tamil than Hindi. I know more Tamil than Hindi. From childhood, I didn't learn much Tamil. 3. Whats the difference between "mannipu" and "manichiringu"? Do both mean to forgive? 4. How do you say put? Translate. Put that down! Put the key on the table. Can you put some rice? 5. Whats the difference between "neriya" and "romba"? Don't both mean "a lot"? 6. How do you address someone formally? Do you just add "nga" at the end of their name? In Hindi, they say "ji" and in Telugu, we say "garu" or "evandi".

  • Answer:

Well I really appreciate your enthusiasm. Thank you for that. keep it up. 1. nAn AndhrAvil irunthu vanthirukkirEn. 2a. nAn hindiyai vida tamilil nandrAga pEsugirEn 2b. enakku hindiyai vida tamil athigamAga theriyum 2c. kulanthaiyil (kuzhanthaiyil) irunthu nAn tamil athigam padikka villai 3. Sorry. Please correct this word "manichiringu" to "mannichirunge". Thank you mannipu and mannichirunge are considered as "forgive" but please take note: mannipu is forgive or pardon mannichirunge. Let's say "thayavu seithu ennai mannichirunge" Then this is "please forgive or pardon me" 4. Put is basically "vai" but depending on the sentence it could be "vaitthal or vaippathu or vaitthirappathu or vaikkirathu ......and so on 4a. athai kIlEh vai. 4b. antha sAviyai mEjaiyin mElE vai 4c. konjam sOru vaikka mudiyumA? 5. Sorry. Please correct this word "neriya" to "niraiya". Thank you. "niraiya" and "romba" both carries the same meaning "a lot". "romba" also has other meaning like "very". Let's look at this example: a. nAn romba nallavan (meaning "I am a very good person") b. enakku unaai romba pidikkum (meaning "I like you very much") 6. "nga" is formally to address someone elder than us or to any one in order to show some respect even though they are younger than us. I hope this will help and encourage you for a better Tamil learning. God bless everyone
