What is the best road route from Bangalore to Goa?

Bangalore to Goa road route?

  • I have read quite a few routes on this group, but most of them are quite old. I am planning a road trip in Nov'08 and would request someone to let me know which is the best route to Goa from B'lore. I would appreciate if it is based on a recent experience. Thanks

Your best choice is: Take the NH 4 in the direction of Belgaum but get off the highway at Tumkur onto NH 206 via Tarikere, Shivamogga, Sagar, Ulanahalli, then onto the NH 17 near Manki and turn north to come via Honavar, Kumta, Madanegri, Ankola, Karwar and enter Goa from the south. Though a little longer the road is much better and you won't waste much time.

If u start from majestic, u have to go to dr,raaj kumar road,than staright to NH 7 NELMANGALA 35KM, THAN IT COMES TO TUMKUR IS 75 KM FROM BANGALORE,AFTER THAT SIRA,HIRIYUR,MADHIGIRI,CHITRADURGA,SIRSI ETC IT TAKES AROUND 14 HOURS TO REACH TO MARGOA.........
