Why do I have to prove old address for my passport?

Change of address in passport?

  • change of address in passport? my passport has old address in it.I want to change my old address in passport to new address. I have ELECTION CARD as new address proof. If I submit all the documents to passport office. In how many days can i get the passport with new address? How many days does passport office require to process it? Can any passport agent get it done quicker? (As i need it urgently done)
