    The shortest route is via Shimoga, Sagar, Honnavar, karwar, Margao. Should take you about 11 hrs by car. Distance, around 560 km. Lousy road. The recommended route is via Tumkur, Davanagere, Hubli, karwar and Margao. Around 580 km. Best road If you like travelling along the coast, then go via Hassan, Mangalore, Udupi, Kundapur, Bhatkal, karwar. Around 640 km. Good road.

If you have time on hand i suggest u use the costal route.U will get lots of good beaches on the way.Go via Nelamangala(NH4)-Hassan, Sakaleshpur-Mangalore-Udupi-Kundapur-Bha… (Visit OM Beach) -Karwar.National Highways All the way. Shortest is Tumkur-Davanagere--Hubli--Londa--Panaji (Upto hubli its good road)

Take the bangalore pune road (NH4) and take a diversion at Belgaum and come to Goa via Amboli. Alternately take a diversion at Hubli and come to Goa via Yellapur-Karwar(NH17). Avoid NH4A

There are 3 different ways to go GOA frm Blore 1. BH road -- Which goes via Shimoga ... Honnavar ... Karwar..Goa ....... this road is least crowded and virtually no traffic till Honnavar... nice to drive 2. Via Hubli -- Gokak -- Ankola .... GOA ... Very good road...but straight 3. Mangalore ... Murudeshwar .. Honnavar ... Karwar ..Goa ... tis road sucks ... u'll broke ur *** off while passing thru the ghats to reach mlore ...neways awesome scenery ....
