Can I still negotiate after verbally accepting an offer?

Hi there, I am considering accepting an employment offer in Bangalore.?

  • Hi there, I am considering accepting an employment offer in Bangalore. In order to negotiate salary I am trying to determine the monthly cost-of-living for a family of 2 adults and 1 children ( 4 yrs old ) including things such as: - rent (3 or 4 bedroom house in expat neighbourhood) - utilities (gas, electricity, sewer) - tv cable/satellite - internet connectivity - telephone (land and mobile) - private schooling - nanny - housemaid - driver with car - groceries - dining out - entertainment costs - any other items you can think of that would be applicable Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  • Answer:

rent (3 or 4 bedroom house in expat neighbourhood) - Depends on which area you choose, may be 15K - 20K INR - utilities (gas, electricity, sewer) - 1000 - 2000 INR /mnt - tv cable/satellite - 500 - 1000 INR /mnt - internet connectivity - 500 - 1000 INR /mnt - telephone (land and mobile) - 1000-2000 INR /mnt - private schooling - 4000 - 5000 /mnt Excluding donations - nanny - 1000 - 2000 /mnt - housemaid - 500 - 1000 /mnt - driver with car - 2000 - 3000 /mnt - groceries - 2000 - 3000 /mnt - dining out - depends on which restaurant you go, aprrox more than 4000 INR /mnt - entertainment costs - again depends on what kind of entertainment you choose, approx more than 3000 INR /mnt - any other items you can think of that would be applicable- transportation, if your buying a car, then it would cost a lot... So I guess you need a job where you earn more than 60K /mnt, then you can have all the above mentioned facilities and save some money too. And this depends on what kind of job you are offered and which place you are planning to stay. Rents of houses varies from areas to areas in Bangalore, also schooling is also a major part, donations are very much if you opt for any high reputed private schools.

you may need 60k to 70 k depending on the lavishness of your spending and other factors like the area where you want to stay etc etc but , in India no organisation offers job(salary) depending on your needs , the salaries offered generally vary basing on your qualification , experience and the present pay and the current organisation you are working at present etc

I don't know much about these types of jobs, but be careful what you are getting into (especially in a foreign country).
