How do I get rid of the side bar in sharepoint?

How to get the widget side bar thing?

  • a few days ago i saw looking at a lap top in pc world.. it had what looked like yahoo widget installed.. i thought the idea of notes and to do lists was cool so i downloded yahoo widgets and i have got that working on my pc.. however the widget looked loads better on the pc in pc world..?? and i can't seem to get mine to look the same... let me expand.. .. the widget thing i want looked like a tool bar on the right had side of the screen.. it was a block of boxes and each one was a diff widget.. like notes, weather or the clock.. i just cant seem to find out how to get this look on my pc... any ideas???? help

    It sounds like you're either talking about the Google Desktop sidebar http://desktop.google.com/index.html there or possibly about what is now called Windows Vista gadgets and sidebar. IT'S NOT CLEAR IF YOU DOWNLOADED THE SIDE BAR OR NOT. IF NOT, USE THE SEARCH BOX FOR "SIDEBAR". SIDEBARS CAN BE FOUND ALL OVER SINCE THE PREVIEW OF WHAT WAS THEN CALLED LONGHORN. P C WORLD MAGAZINE HAS A DOWNLOADS SECTION.
