What happened to the Yahoo! Mail widget?

Is Yahoo! Widgets discontinued? it seems odd that there is no "Yahoo! Mail widget to be found for it. there are 3rd party mail widgets available, but being a yahoo product, you'd think there was a well supported and feature rich widget available widget. Or perhaps a windows sidebar widget? I use yahoo web mail for all my email and IM chats, so I don't have yahoo messenger installed, and would like a way to be notified on my desktop of new mail.
