Good quality trumpet at a low price?

Where can I get a trumpet for my son at a good price?

• My son plays the trumpet for his school band. I am renting one for him right now but I would like to purchase one soon. Does anyone know what is a good brand of trumpet and a affordable price to pay for one? I can't afford the ones that are thousands of dollars but $150.00 to $300.00 is in my price range... maybe for a used one!

  How old is your son? Bach, Yamaha, and Getzen are always my first choices for suggesting affordable horns. With your price range, used is definitely the way to go. Don't be afraid to check a pawn shop. If you can make sure they have a return policy...buy it and take it to your son's band director. They will be able to determine if it's in good working order. A lot of stores will have a payment plan, even with used horns. Bach TR300 and Yamaha 2335 are good student horns. Bach TR200 and Yamaha 4335 are good step up horns.
