How do u place automatic bids on ebay?

How do I automatic bid on eBay?

  • I read this article, http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/automatic-bidding.html and I KIND OF understand but how? So if the current highest bidder's bid is $31, if I place $40 as my highest bid will my bid appear as $32 and $40 will not be revealed until someone bids higher? O.o How do I set it? Please anyone help me. I have bought from eBay before but using the "Buy It Now" button, and that's easy for me. But I need help on this. Thank you

  • Answer:

you dont have to set it. you just enter the highest amount you are willing to buy it for. $32 is what you will pay if you outbid the other person and they dont bid again. if they do bid higher than $40 you will either lose, or bid again. for example: i bid on a book for $1. i am willing to pay $20. so someone else bids $4, it would automatically bid $5 for me. (the increases on the auto bids are more as the bidding gets higher, i believe its a quarter then 50 and $1 and after $100 the bid goes up by $2.). then he bids $7 and my auto bid would be $8 and so on. if he stopped at his highest bid of $18 i would win my book for $19.

you put it in the same as you would a regular bid. if it says you must bid 2.50 and you'll go as high as 10 then put in 10 and it will automatically bid for you up to that amount.
