Few questions about paypal and ebay?

I have a couple of questions about ebay&paypal?

  • i'm new to buying things on ebay and i'm a bit confused when the seller says that his pay methods are paypal only. does it mean i have to transfer my money from my bank account into my paypal account in order to purchase his product? and how long does it usually take to transfer money this way on paypal. thanks in advance (:

    Relax. Paypal transfers the funds for you, and the seller gets paid. When you opt to pay with paypal, you don't have to do anything except hit the "pay with paypal" button when purchasing, Paypal will do the rest. The seller gets a message that the funds are on the way and when that is completed the seller gets a message that they are paid and can ship out the item. You don't lose the sale waiting for the funds to transfer, it locks in your sale. It can take a few days to up to 10 days to transfer the funds, most of the time it takes 2 -3 days though.

Yes, you will have to transfer money from your bank account into your PayPal account. If you have and use a credit card/account for this, I believe you can do this instantly, but if you use, for instance, a savings account, I think it's at least 48 hours after you transfer the money during working days (Monday to Friday) before the transfer is complete. If you transfer on a weekend, it will take at least 48 hours from Monday to complete. You should then be able to use PayPal to buy the item.
