How do you get 5% or 20% off on eBay?

EBay: The item is $5. I bid $20. No one else bids. Do I get the item for $5?

  • Thanks.

  • Answer:

yes. and you can bid again if you change your mind and want to put in a higher maximum, and still get it for $5 if no one else bids. you can't outbid yourself what you should do is wait til the last moment possible to bid though. its called "sniping" and deters others from nibbling up the price as it prevents competition from reacting to your bid and re-bidding. also kind of helps prevent seller from shilling (bidding up their own item). even if you can't be at your comp to snipe, bid as late as possible with your max even if its a day or two or whatever before end. plus it is quite a rush lol

Yes you do. Ebay only automatically bids up to the next highest bid. If no one bids, you get it for $5.

no, its an auction, whoever bids the highest gets the item and pays their bid, so bid wisely
