What is the cheapest method for shipping a domestic item?

Question about shipping?

  • Okay I asked a guy from ebay how much would it cost for him to ship a game to me,so he replied Hello, The cheapest method that includes delivery confirmation to Malaysia is $58.00. As an alternative, I can ship it as a small packet which would be much cheaper for $18.00 but no delivery confirmation. Please note that I will need to declare the sale for this item for $100 for insurance purposes so please inquire with Malaysia import laws on what kind of customs charges might be due on a sale like this. If you are okay with this I would accept $115 + shipping on this auction. Let me know. Then I asked when does he meant by "No delivery conformation"?,he replied Hello again. Delivery confirmation is similar to tracking. What I mean is there is no way to look up online where it is. This method still includes insurance though. Delivery times average from 1-2 weeks but can take longer depending on customs. Extreme cases can take 4-5 weeks. I have shipped this way to many places around the world with much success. However as mentioned before I would need to declare $100 for the insurance. When ordering outside of your own country, imports can be subject to taxes. You would need to contact the Malaysia post office to inquire how much customs charges would be on something that is declared as $100 US. I just don't want you to be surprised if there are extra taxes charged which is charged by Malaysia for importing. So now tell me what exactly would happen to my item if I choose the $18.00 shipping. Please note that I don't shop online often and I don't quite understand what "Tracking means". What risk would happen if I choose the cheaper way?

  • Answer:

Tracking means they give you a tracking number. For example on USPS.com or like UPS.com, you can enter the tracking number and know exactly where the parcel is at all times.. Sellers like delivery confirmation because so many on Ebay say..I didnt get the item. This way, the seller knows they did because you must sign for the package when it arrives. Thus, the term delivery confirmation. The risk of chosing the other way.. if the item is lost, you cant be sure they even mailed it. They are in a foreign country and you have no recourse of mail fraud. Personally, I wouldnt buy from someone in Malaysia because shipping is too much money. I think you'll find its more hassle than its worth. Also, I dont trust that things like movies and games are not pirated lesser quality copies and not the real deal--from sellers in that area of the world. They are famous for that on Ebay..

Queen of answers is right, and I wouldn't buy a game from someone in Malaysia either, it very well is a pirated copy. Find the game for sale from someone in your own country.
