How to delete a bid on ebay?

  • hi evereone! I had a VW passat and the engine was gone. I online ebay bid on 1 engine £185 and no body else bid yet. however due to some financial I have just sold this car and I dont want that bid no more. there are still 24 hours remainng on bid. My question is that is there any way that I can turn down my bid or delete it. I will appriciate your reply. thanks imi

    You cannot take back a bid... That is why they ask you to confirm your bid before you click "Bid". By clicking "OK" you signed a contract so now it is up to you to contact the seller and beg for that person to have pity on you and let you out of the legally binding contract that you "Signed" with your bid. I don't mean to sound harsh, but they make the rules VERY VERY clear on ALL eBay Sites.

There are certain circumstances when you can retract a bid but in your case I think you've probably bought the engine unless someone outbids you. You can check out the bidding rules and the possibility of retracting bids if you go to your home page - click on help > select help topics > under sub-section 'bidding and buying' select 'all about bidding'.
