How do I get my refund from Paypal?

How to get a refund if I payed through paypal, but don't have a paypal account?

  • I want to get a refund from a seller on ebay who has not posted my item over 2 weeks after I payed for it. I complained and he sent a request to cancel the transaction, which I declined because I heard it doesn't guarantee a refund. What should I do? If i'm refunded where will the money go? How do I make sure I get a refund? The reason I don't have a paypal account is because I made a new ebay account to pay for that item, but didn't sign up to paypal even though I payed through them. I've never had to do this before. please help!

    Paypal send you a confirmation email with every transaction. I suggest you find it and contact paypal on how to file a buyers complaint for item not received.

How did you pay for the item? Did you mail a check? You need to communicate more with the seller. Probably he was waiting until your check cleared before he mailed out the item. He did offer to cancel the transaction, and you probably should have accepted that offer and asked for a refund or to have your check returned to you, or just stop payment on your check. It didn't sound to me like to waited that long for your item, if he had to wait to get your check and then wait again for it to clear through the bank. Talk to the seller and don't get upset just yet. I am confused as to why you say you paid through PayPal. You HAVE to have an account with PayPal in order to do that. Perhaps the seller never received any payment at all from you, which would certainly explain why your item was not mailed. If you never actually managed to pay for the item, then you are not owed a retund, of course.
