How reliable is Ebay?

  • There's a compact mirror I would love to buy on Ebay but it's in Taipei, Taiwan. Has anyone ever bought anything that had to be shipped overseas? Do you think it's safe to buy from there, like scam - wise? I decided I wasn't going to buy it until I got some reviews for Ebay. They have a 99.2% positive feedback so that's a good thing, I just want to know how safe it would be to buy from Taiwan.

    The most important things on ebay are their feedback rating, how many transactions, and how long they have been on ebay. If they are recent sellers or the item is priced ridiculously low, avoid them like the plague

It's not just the percent positive feedback, it's the NUMBER of feedbacks. If hundreds or thousands of people have bought from him and 99.2% of them were happy I'd say that was pretty safe.

Its true not a scam but usually things from Taiwan are cheaper versons so try finding something from USA. 99.2% is a really good feedback though!

You can email the seller, ask how long it takes to ship. I'd say you'd have a wait of 2 weeks before it gets over here.
