Paypal refund question?

  • i am sending an item back to a seller for a refund. the item size was misrepresented and the seller acknowledges the mistake and said he would refund the money. however, i am asking for shipping costs back to him in addition to the original amount. my question is, do i need to send him an invoice or something for him to be able to refund the money? or can he just somehow just access my paypal account with the refund, even with the fact that the total amount of the refund will be more than the original price i paid him(due to the return shpping) sorry i just need to understand how this refund will work thanks much

    You do not need to send him an invoice. If he made a mistake and is a reputable seller he will give you the money back. He is able to make a manual refund of any amount from his end from his PayPal account without any problems. Since this is his fault, send him a message that you would like your shipping charges refunded as well as the cost of the item.

You will not have to send an invoice or anything. The seller will be able to go on paypal and refund your money back into your account. And even if he can't refund more than the original, he can either send it to you in the mail, or you can invoice him then. Hope it cleared things up! (:

Don't forget, when you send the item back to the seller to include delivery confirmation with usps for proof that you did, indeed, send the item back or else the seller could always say that he didn't receive it and you are out of luck. He can manually refund your funds plus the shipping back fees directly into your paypal account.
