It takes a while to get the hang of, I wish I could explain it all but it's a big subject. This tutorial for setting up an Ebay shop is very good - it doesn't matter that you're not setting up a shop because the same principles apply: http://quamut.com/quamut/starting_an_ebay_business First thing is to do some research and learn about scams and frauds. A few tips: Don't leave feedback for a buyer until the buyer has left feedback for you. Never ever send anything to dodgy Countries like Nigeria and also beware of people who pretend to be in "safe Countries" like the UK or USA and then ask you to send the item to Nigeria, Malaysia or whatever. At minimum get a free proof of posting for your items; it insures the item up to £34 and you can show evidence that you sent an item to a buyer. Print address labels, don't write them. Print is easier to read and reduces the chance of lost mail; also put a return address on the back of the parcel. For free photo hosting use Photobucket rather than pay for ebay photos. http://tutorials.photobucket.com/tutorial_50.html International selling is higher risk than UK alone but it can get you a much higher price. 5p - 10p extra for international site visibility can pay off. for international selling only accept Paypal because cheques and postal orders can be fake or difficult to cash. Use Internet Explorer not Firefox; Firefox just don't work with Ebay! Take good photos and give good descriptions. Start with a low price if you know it will go up; the lower the price the more interest you will generate - useful for drawing in a crowd when you are selling multiple items. Don't check any boxes for options you don't need; on the final page there is one that costs nearly £50! Don't press it by accident. Use a 7 or 10 day listing for items of specialist interest; a 5 day listing is okay for general interest items. Set the auction end time for evening - not many people will be buying in the morning. If you have any problems send me an email, I'm no expert but I've been selling for a few months. My ebay page: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/sauce_devil_W0QQ_nkwZQQ_armrsZ1QQ_fromZ

after log in go on sell . select category. To make your listing get more visits chose a rite category . chose title, chose your item picture, upload it from your computer. write description. to get paid for the item put your paypal email id in payment method .you can also tick other payment method for eg.check, cash on collection, etc .BUT i prefer you paypal because paypal is fastest easiest and secure way to get paid or pay online . chose shipping method if item worth more then 15 £ or $ .always use recorded shipping method.its very important. thats all click on list button .ebay will tell you how much do you been charged for this listing . you can also get help from little writing those are written with each step by ebay. thats all you done in listing after sold: when some on won the auction or some one buy your item with buy it now they have to pay . when money came in to your paypal account .note thair address if its conformed by paypal then simply send the item on address provided by them. never ever use anyother address what does that mean for e.g buyer say to you that they on holiday and they on this address dont send the item on paypal address send us on this address because we are here for some days.never do this if you sended the item any alternative post address you are not coverd by paypal seller protection policys . .again if item worth more then 15 £ or $ always use recorded post.its very important. dont hasitate to contact with me if you need more help .

Start by going to the "sell your item" form (click on the "sell" tab and you'll see it) and click on the start selling button then just follow the whole process through. You'll find it's all explained as you go along - they want to make it easy for you! You do know that you'll be charged fees (an insertion fee whether your item sells or not, then a final value fee when it does sell, plus a PayPal fee on every payment you receive). When someone buys something from you, they will most likely pay with PayPal. The money goes into your PP account and then you can draw it down to your bank. If you use the UK site, have a look here for info on how to get started including a tutorial: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/selling-basics.html If you use the US site, look here: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/selling-basics.html Both of those pages are basically the same, but there are policy differences between selling on the UK and US sites.
