CAN I SELL ANYTHING ON aMAZON?

Amazon buyer trying to bamboozle me?

  • Yes... bamboozle... I put a video game on Amazon to sell ... Red Flag #1 I get this shipping inquiry email from someone saying they bought the game and wanted to know if I could send it out that day and gave me an address. Red Flag # 2 I had not recieved any confirmation from Amazon telling me that my item was sold (like has been done every time in the past) I reply and tell the buyer that it has not yet been confirmed through Amazon, it says Payment Pending and that I will send out the item when I recieve confirmation Red Flag # 3 The person emails me back and has copy/pasted a "confirmation email" from Amazon... it was for the same game yes... but it was for a different price, the seller was not my username and the order number was different. I email the person back yet again and tell them that they need to check their page again because that is not mine Red Flag # 4 The person said they contacted Amazon and Amazon confirmed the payment and they checked their statement and the amount was charged (the amount they said was different than my listing price as well) They said Amazon told them that since I am a new seller my page doesn't update as quickly (I think they pulled that out of their @$$ and want to take advantage of someone that they think doesn't know anything about selling stuff online) I told them that I have sold over 50 items on Amazon and go by the book... Red Flag # 5 They told me that if I did not send the game then they would leave me bad feedback... i pretty much told them that I did not care because Amazon is not my livelyhood, I just get rid of games that I am finished playing on it... I told them numerous times that I will NOT mail anything until I have the green light from Amazon There are a few others as well... but I'm thinking whoever this is just wants a free game, what do you think? When (or if) their payment ever goes through (which it hasnt in 3 days) I think I will just refund it and sell it to a better buyer.... What do you think?

  • Answer:

I have sold a few things through Amazon.. and this doesn't sound right to me either. First off you should be getting a notification from Amazon about your order being sold, not a customer. After this you must wait till Amazon confirms payment. Usually people just use a credit card online and the payment is confirmed after Amazon contacts you in the first place. I have also gotten bad feedback because the post office lost the package I sent out. Long story short Amazon will tell you everything, not the buyer and if you have an issues you should email Amazon to make confirmations. Tell this person you will send out the item after Amazon confirms the order and the payment has been confirmed, which you should be able to see in your store account, items, etc. Same place you would go to print out the packing slip with their address on it, etc. Also.. 1 or 2 bad feedback won't kill you, and he cannot give you any bad feedback unless he is in fact a buyer, which again Amazon would inform you of, not him. -Bottom line, no, if he actually bought the game Amazon would tell you not him, he's trying to rip you off. Tell him if this is truly the case he needs to contact Amazon concerning his order becasue it sounds like he either can't because he didn't buy it or he got the wrong guy. Double check to see if your item is still for sale and in stock, that is a sure fire way to prove to yourself the item you are selling HAS NOT SOLD

i would say dont refund the money and sell it to someone else, because you are NEVER going to get the money from them because they are just trying to scam you out of your game. i am sure that if they did buy your game you would have received your payment and something giving the name and address of the buyer so you could ship it out. I do hope that someone will really want your item and not try to rip you off. edit: if the payment does go through, and you ship it make sure you get delivery confirmation added to the package, so they cant rip you off.

Amber ... I wouldn't ship until Amazon gave me the go-ahead, and let the buyer know the detail. You can find information on selling on Amazon here, including detail on their Marketplace: http://bit.ly/a1TDh Good luck!
