Bought something from ebay?

Paypal eCheck taking too long to pay for something I bought on eBay!?

  • I'm new to Paypal and I bought something on eBay 2 days ago and ended up paying for my item with the eCheck on Paypal... I didn't realize though that it would take so long for the payment to actually clear. Today I woke up with a message from the seller on eBay asking if I was planning to pay for the item. This is so frustrating... when will he receive his payment? I have anxiety about it thinking, "what if he never gets it?!". I messaged him back about me using an eCheck but I still feel really bad about him not getting the payment already. Can he check somehow to see that my eCheck is pending or something? I want him to see that I really did pay. :[ Thank you.

  • Answer:

Two points, and hopefully this will clear up everything. 1. e-checks typically take anywhere from 5-10 business days to clear. Nothing unusual here, really. 2. The seller SHOULD have an indication on their eBay's "sold items" page that you paid for the item via PayPal. If you did everything correctly, they should have a little hourglass in the "paid" column, indicating that they are waiting for payment to clear for the item. As long as you made the payment through eBay (rather than using PayPal's "send cash" tab) the seller should have this on their screen, although it can sometimes take a few hours to show up. I'd ask the seller to see if they have this hourglass on their sold page. If they do, then that means they have your pending payment for the item. Hope this helps.
