When you buy something on ebay how do you pay?

How do you buy something on ebay and not pay for it?

  • I want to get something on ebay and use my paypal account and have the seller get their money. However, I dont have the money in my account. Do you know if it will just be a negative amount in my paypal after I pay? Will the seller still send out the item?

  • Answer:

PayPal automatically transfers money form your checking account and if that fails they use your credit card. PayPal can never go negative. They will not pay if money is not available. I assume stores are automatically put on hold until funds are received. ℬ ℋ

The only way that PayPal will let you make a payment is if you either: 1. Have an available balance in your PayPal account, or 2. Have an attached bank account or credit card that it can take the money from. If you have neither of these, it will not let you process the payment and tell you that you have insufficient funds for the amount you are trying to pay. Sellers typically will NOT send an item out unless they have a cleared payment for the item. Hope this helps.

The transaction wont go through unless you have good money. You cant pay, in other words. It wont let you. They wont pay the seller. The seller wont ship until she has good money. They arent even set up for this scam, they would be expecting it to happen, as it happens with banks all the time. People writing NSF checks. They dont have NSF on Paypal--you either have the money or you dont.
