Ebay Bidding Question?

Question about bidding on Ebay (experts on ebay please)......?

  • Ok I've found something that is on Ebay that I wouldn't mind buying. The item is on Buy It Now at a price of $134.99 and I was thinking about just putting a bit on it (yes I know that if someone decides to buy it from the Buy It Now that my bid won't matter) I need to know how much I should bid on it. It doesn't say a bidding price so I don't know what is to high or too low (no one has yet put an offer on it). Does it matter what i put as a bid? For example if I decided to bid a dollar would that be acceptable? and If the days ran up and I did bid a dollar what would be the chances of me getting it? (I know I would never bid a dollar but that is just an example). Thank you all who answered.

  • Answer:

I would advise putting something within $50 of the original price, because most sellers will only sell the item if it reaches their pre-established "minimum bid"

If the item has a Buy It Now price, you have to purchase it at that price. If it has both a Buy It Now price and a possibility to bid, the Buy It Now will disappear once the first bid is placed.

QuestionsAnswered

if there is no place to bid, you have to use the buy it now and pay $134.99 plus the shipping. if you bid the buy it now will go away, and you might end up paying more than the buy it now price.
