Does Paypal have any fees?

Why is Paypal taking random fees from a gift debit card?

  • I was attempting to purchase a shirt from a website that does its transactions through Paypal, I opted out of making a Paypal account and to just use it as a form of paying this one time. There was an error thus I decided against the transaction until later. When I go to view the balance on the card Paypal has taken two separate $1 fees from the card. I have heard this has to do with authorization but being as I am not a Paypal customer they should have re-credited the funds to the card being as I did not go through with the transaction. They seem to not have any help available to those not with a Paypal account so why am I having this issue? I would really like that $2 back being as it is only a $20 gift card. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Answer:

the gift card itself my be charging you transaction fees, they are fun of that. check the fee to see where its going and do not reload the card after use
