How long can an item on back order from Walmart take to be re-stocked?

• I ordered something from Walmart a little over three weeks ago, and since then I've called Walmart but they haven't given any specifics as to when the item will come into stock. . . I'm wondering if anyone knows about how long at the most it will take them to restock? Thanks

  There is no set time. It all depends on the original supplier and Walmart distribution. I'm an overnight stocker at a Walmart. My department had several badly needed items from one manufacturer that were out of stock for over a month. They were re-ordered automatically when they ran out but it took that long for the supplier to ship more in. Even when the items did come in, we only got 3 cases when the shelf can easily hold 12. In all, it took 2 1/2 months to get in enough stock to refill the shelf. Items that tend to sell very quickly (I/E grocery) are usually not out of stock for long. Stuff from the general merchandise side of the store can take quite a bit longer to finally come in.
