Help need some help with selling on ebay?

  • Ok so I decided that I was going to sell something on ebay and I decided to seard how to for safty stuff on this but it didn't make scene people were going on about pay pal. I WAS WONDERING WHATS THE BEST WAY TO SELL ON EBAY? AND DO YOU NEED PAY PAL TO SELL ON EBAY? i thought you only need pay pal to buy on ebay and I wrong? Thatnks

    Hi Laura! You don't have to have Paypal to sell or buy on Ebay but most people prefer it as it is an easier, quicker and more reliable way of making and receiving payments. Most Ebayers will only accept Paypal if you buy from them but as a seller, you can accept cheques or postal orders if this is easier for you. Bear in mind, it will take a couple of days for them to send payment through the post and then you will have to wait for a cheque to clear which will obviously delay the sending of their item, which some Ebayers don't mind but most prefer a quick transaction. It doesn't take long to set up Paypal. You just need perhaps an hour to sit down and go through the set-up and enter your bank details to which your Paypal account would be connected, and Ebay offer a support link if you get stuck. Many buyers will not buy from you on ebay if you don't have paypal,because when they pay with paypal they are protected in case something goes wrong with the sale, plus it's free for buyers to use ( sellers pay a percentage fee based on the amount of the sale). You don't have to use Paypal, of course, but be prepared to have fewer buyers.

You don't need to have a Paypal account but it is certainly the best way to send and receive payments through ebay. They do take a small percentage of money for the fees but this is minimal and worth it for the security and speed Paypal provides.
