Few questions about paypal and ebay?

Selling on eBay and PayPal questions?

  • I currently do not have a bank account and I don't have any money on my paypal account. I want to start trying to sell stuff on eBay. What I want to know is, if I sell something will they take the fees out of what I sell and put what's left onto my paypal and if paypal will take it's own fees out. Also, if I make a new bank account will it be deposited ooor..? lol I've been trying to read and read and read all of the terms and payment fees and stuff and it's all getting discombobulated in my head.. lol I'm new to doing all of this so I'm sorry if this sounds stupid.. but if someone can just help me out here and make it easier to understand I would be extremely grateful =]

  • Answer:

eBay charges a small fee to list your item. They also take a small fee once the item is sold (called a 'final value fee'), it will be a small percentage of what ever the item sells for. eBay don't automatically take their fees out of the payment from the seller. eBay will send you a monthly account that you can pay with Paypal. Paypal charge a small fee to accept money from your buyer, but it is free for you to pay someone with Paypal. Paypal take their own fees out. You have to link a bank account to Paypal to be a seller on eBay. No, any money that is paid into your Paypal does not get transferred to your bank account automatically. You have to log into Paypal and make a withdrawal and request the amount to be transferred to your bank account. This process takes 6 - 8 business days.

eBay will take its fees out. PayPal does not have any fees for personal accounts. The only time there is a charge is if you use a credit card for a personal transaction or you request a check to be mailed to you. Transfers from and to your bank are free. If you have a checking account and a credit card attached then payments take place immediately and the funds are transferred "from" your checking automatically that night. You must request transfers "to" your checking account manually. It is very simple. ℬ ℋ
