What are some good volunteer websites?

Volunteer/work abroad search-Good websites?

  • Hi, looking to volunteer or preferable work abroad (outside northern America would be nice...) starting July 2011 and going indefinitely... I'm getting bogged down by all the research I've been doing, and I'd like to spend less time opening link after link only to find that it's not too credible, not what I'm looking for, or that I'm on the wrong page entirely haha. Does anyone have a suggestion about a website or another resource that has worked for them? It can be anything from Craigslist to workaway.com to something totally different. Any feedback would be great-just looking to find some resources that have worked for others! Basic information about me: July 2011-Indefinite Female aged 17 College enrolled, (partially online, partially on campus) currently working/employed English/Spanish speaking Thank you to anyone who responds!     You will probably have to wait until you are 18 unless you take your family. Try the American Red Cross Doctors Without Borders ( they have a French name that starts with Medicins Sans.....) Visit with any nurse at your local hospital. Groups of doctors and nurses visit foreign countries for 10 days and do surgeries for poor people. Your job would not be romantic; you would be preparing bandages and cleaning up surgical rooms.

to find out credibility of an organization, speak to past volunteers of theirs. look at their facebook pages and findout who is volunteering at the same time you will be. and also ask about past experiences.
