What are some cheap but good hotels in Myrtle Beach, SC?

  You want to come to Myrtle Beach during one of the busiest weeks of the year (right before school starts back), you want a nice hotel that isn't old, AND you want it to be cheap. Not very likely this year. Everyone in town is running near 100% occupancy this year with no trouble whatsoever filling rooms at full price. That doesn't usually result in discounts on rooms. But, "cheap" is a relative term so it really depends on what you, personally, call "a cheap hotel room". If your idea of "cheap" is much under $100 per night then you can forget the "nice" and "newer" right now in Myrtle Beach. You might find something with that specification outside of the city and a touch inland such as Conway or Florence. If you're coming this weekend and you don't have reservations yet - you WILL pay too much for your room. I'd strongly suggest you not show up without reservations thinking walk-in will be cheaper, you may find nothing available at all. Two more weeks and the rates drop by 1/2. A month after that they'll drop another 1/2.
