  • at first it wasn't even on the screen, then i went to microsoft.com and downloaded it, well i think it is there but i can't see it. if i move my cursor over the black bar, the menu options appear but disappear. i need to see history, internet options, other tools and stuff. any help, please? Additional Details i dont have the full screen option on. i can see the "http" bar and the little house symbol for home, but everything else has a thick black line covering it. it's like everything is there but someone took a black magic marker and drew a thick line across it

  • Answer:

The black toolbars appear to be a bug. Several people have reported the same problem in Y! Answers. I have searched the Internet and I can find no fix or for that matter no explanation. I don't know if it is a Microsoft problem or 3rd party software problem. The production version of IE 8 has been out for only a week or two; the RC1 and Betas have been available for months and I never saw a report of this problem. So, I don't know what is going on. I suggest you uninstall IE 8 in add or remove programs (will revert back to IE 7) until a resolution is found. Hopefully your IE7 won't have the same problem (if it does, you may need to use System Restore to correct). Good luck. :-(
