How do change the buttons on my Yahoo toolbar?

Why do the yahoo toolbar buttons change each time I open Internet Explorer?

  • I mark tool bar buttons, then close IE. Next time I open IE all the buttons are changed.

  • Answer:

In order for the Yahoo! Toolbar to show you the buttons you've chosen you have to be signed in to Yahoo!. When you close IE you are effectively signing out. The next time you open IE you are not signed in, so Yahoo! has no idea who you are or what buttons it is supposed to show you.    An easy way to solve this is to add the "Sign In" button to the toolbar. Then when you open IE you will be able to click it and sign in to Yahoo. Your toolbar buttons will appear and you will have access to everything Yahoo! without needing to sign in again.    If you're lazy you can also configure both Yahoo! and your browser to leave you signed in but I highly recommend you do NOT use this method. Doing so will enable anyone who uses your computer to have access to your Yahoo! account and everything in it.
