  I assume you are talking about the system tray (more correctly the notification area) which has a blue backgroud and contains the time. The taskbar is deep blue (at the bottom of the screen) and to the right of the green start button. Programs started during Logon love to put icons in the system tray. Some you can't remove (but you can hide them). Other programs that use the system tray may have options to remove the buttons. If you right click an open area in the system tray and click Customize Notifications you can hide the buttons. If you are talking about something else, then please clarify because Yahoo does not have a task bar. If you are talking about butons on the Yahoo tool bar, then click the toolbar settings button (avatar) and click Add/Edit buttons.
