How to remove a toolbar?

How do I permanetly remove Yahoo Toolbar?

  • I'm using Internet Explorer on Vista. I have this uninvited Yahoo Toolbar that I try to remove. The pencil icon doesn't have "remove" or "uninstall" option. Vista doens't have "add/remove program" in control panel. I tried Window Install Cleanup, Yahoo Toolbar is not on the list. So, I can't remove it. Toolbar help doesn't help either. Seems like it hasn't been updated for a while. It still talks about using "uninstall" from the pencil icon. The option is just not there. This is totally annoying..

    It is pretty piss poor of Yahoo and Microsoft to make this so hard to remove. I had a tough time removing this crappy search bar I never wanted. Here's how to do it: 1. Right click on the desktop 2. Click on 'Personalize.' A window will pop up. 3. Click on 'Taskbar and Start Menu' at the bottom right. Another window will pop up. 4. Click on the 'Toolbars' tab at the top. 5. Click on 'HP Advisor' to deselect it. 6. Click 'Apply,' then 'OK.' It comes bundled with the HP Advisor, so it's kind of counter intuitive when someone wants to remove it, because one's looking to remove something with 'Yahoo' on it. I hope this has helped you.

You may be able to remove it by right-clicking in a blank area on the bar where your toolbar is located. Then deselect "Yahoo Toolbar" and it will uncheck this selection. Refresh your screen and it should be gone. Keep in mind that some applications that you may download have that toolbar "attached to it" so when you download the app, you are also downloading the toolbar with it. I had the same problem myself in the past.....but I'm better now......:) NurseMom :)

trust me on this one,my gf has windows vista,you can uninstall yahoo toolbar in vista ,sorry i cant tell you how to do it,all i can tell you right now is you can delete it on vista.i am on a windows xp computer thats why i cant tell you exactly how to do it, IT CAN BE DONE.
