How do I turn off tabs with the Yahoo toolbar?

My yahoo toolbar doesn't have a pencil,so i can turn the tabs back on now what?

  Yahoo toolbar still has the pencil on their Firefox version, so you must be talking about Internet Explorer. Yahoo dropped the pencil on their IE version of the toolbar and replaced it with the Settings button (avatar, 2nd button to the right of the words Web Search) when the Y! toolbar went from Version 6 to Version 7 (current version is 7.2.5 at toolbar.yahoo.com). If you are using IE 6, then click the Y! toolbar settings button, click Toolbar Options and check the box to enable tabbed browsing (i.e., Y! toolbar tabs). If you are using IE 7 or IE 8, then tabbing is built-in (part of the browser, you do not use Y! toolbar tabs) and you don't have to do anything other than learn how to use IE 7/8 tabs (plenty of good articles on the Internet or use IE help).
