How do I put the pop up blocker on my toolbar list?

Problems with Yahoo Toolbar and Personalizing My Yahoo?

  • I downloaded the Yahoo Toolbar and then went to add Pop Up Blocker. In the list to the right it shows that I have Pop Up Blocker on my Toolbar but, when I click onto my toolbar it is not there. At MyYahoo I have gone to the Personal Assistant and tried to delete some things I don't want there but I don't know how this thing works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I only answer one question at a time. LOL. Several people have reported problems with the pop-up blocker button. You may want to report this problem to Y! Customer Care. I'll give you a circumvention. If you are using Windows XP SP2, then Internet Explorer has a pop-up blocker. Click Tools and you will see pop-up blocker. Turn it on. Remove the pop-up blocker button from Y! toolbar. You only need one and IE is sufficient. Regarding the 2nd question, I assume you are using the My Yahoo beta. The Personal Assistant has 6 buttons in a mini-window. At the top right above the window you see a refresh symbol, a spiked gear and an x. Click the gear (middle). Each of the 6 buttons (e.g, Mail, Weather,.....) will show a down arrow. Click the down arrow of the button you want to replace and you get a drop down list. Select what you want for that button and then click Done. To change your Front Page (meaning what you first see under My Yahoo), click Personalize this page. You will then get the opportunity to add modules which is just a way of adding mini-windows. You can "somewhat" change the layout and also add additional pages. Don't be afraid, just experiment. It's in beta which means things could change in the future. If you mess up stuff, you can switch back to My Yahoo non-beta. Good luck. **************************************… Added: That is the nature of bugs. Sometimes you get lucky and find a way around the problem. Since you don't have an IE pop-up blocker, you might try clicking the settings button on the Y! toolbar and then click Add old buttons from a Yahoo id (this means your Yahoo id). Maybe you can get around it that way. There are free pop-up and ad-blockers on the Internet, but I don't know which ones are safe, so I can't recommend anything. However, you could download the Google toolbar and use its pop-up blocker. You might lose some screen real estate but at least you will have one.
